Introduction

Wicked Funnels Pty. Ltd. (ABN 18 616 868 350), the company that operates Appalanche (“we”, “our”, or “us”), is a software development studio based in New South Wales, Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This policy covers the Appalanche website. Software we build for clients is governed by each client's own privacy policy.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details. When you contact us or request a quote, we collect what you choose to give us: typically your name, email address, company name, and a description of your project.
  • Email correspondence. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can respond and refer back to it during an engagement.
  • Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics service. It gives us aggregate information, page views, referrers, country, and device type, and does not track you across other sites or build a profile of you. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes you ask for.
  • To deliver and manage engagements once you become a client.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used so we can improve it.

We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we do not use your details for marketing you have not asked for.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Storage and service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run the website and communicate with you:

  • Vercel: hosts this website and provides the cookieless analytics described above.
  • Email providers: deliver and store the email correspondence between us.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated consistently with this policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Retention and security

We keep enquiry details and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or engagement, and then for a reasonable period for record-keeping. Data is encrypted in transit, and access to the systems holding it is restricted. If you would like your enquiry details deleted, email us and we will remove them unless we are required to keep them.

Access and correction

You can ask us at any time for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. We do not charge for these requests.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, email us and we will investigate and respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
